Below you may find two close-ups of a horizontal setup example during the last stage of the rebuilding procedure.
First close-up photo shows the coil and the cotton before dripping (moistening).
Second close-up photo shows the build right after dripping and also in its final place on the deck.
Comments
1. Watching the close-up photos will help you understand the height of the build position on the deck and also the quantity and length of cotton to be used for optimal performance.
2. Notice that the coil is positioned in a way that the two free edges of the cotton won’t be obstructing the liquid intake holes in any way when driven towards the bottom of the deck. To ensure this, the coil is unparalleled with the liquid intake holes axle – that is the axle of the coil is positioned in a turn of a 1/4 of a circle compared to the axle of the liquid intake holes.
Other than that this is a rather hasty setup, only having given proper attention to all info in the above comments. These are crucial factors for a successful horizontal build with the Wave.
3. Some testers have built very good horizontal setups with more cotton compared to the one shown. In any case, it is crucial to take care not to obstruct the holes of the liquid intake.
To do this:
A. Make sure you build your coil positioned in a turn of 1/4 of a full circle compared to the axle of the intake holes (see Comment #2).
B. Use a pointy tool or needle and pass it through the liquid intake holes (direction outside -> inside) so that any cotton behind the holes is pushed back, leaving free space for the liquid flow.
