Description
The Wave RTA is Atmizone’s own rebuildable tank atomizer concept, which challenges conventional thinking by setting a new paradigm in atomizer design. It has been developed using a back-to-basics approach, with a focus on fast rebuilding, great wicking performance and accurate flavour reproduction.
Just like every atomizer, the Wave consists of 3 sub-systems that supply the vaporization process with: i) electric power, ii) air and iii) e-liquid. In contrast to other atomizers, which commonly rely on heavy parts, multiple o-rings & insulators, long pieces of wicking material and often no-res wire to join the various sub-systems, the components of the Wave are organized much more neatly into a tightly integrated unit. The result is a compact atomizer that can be rebuilt fast, using only: i) common sense, ii) resistance wire and iii) cotton, silica, or mesh. Also, the interesting thing about the Wave is that, unlike most other atomisers, you can control the quantity of both air and e-liquid that will supply the vaporization process.
E-liquid is injected into the Wave’s chamber using an innovative direct supply system, which is powered by capillary action and pressure equalization forces and has an incorporated liquid flow control function (LFCS). This ensures fast, consistent wicking, since flow is not slowed down by the dense structure of a conventional wick. Any cotton, silica, or mesh used in a Wave atomizer has limited role in its wicking performance: The choice of wicking material in a Wave atomizer is mostly a matter of personal preference since it mainly affects flavour and humidity / density. With the ability to adjust the e-liquid flow via the LFCS Ring (Liquid Flow Control Ring), you have all the power to control the amount of liquid going in the atomising chamber; most important thing: you can do this real time, with a full functioning device, without the need to rebuild, empty your tank etc.
Air is guided into the Wave’s chamber using a smart air flow control system (AFCS). The amount of air needed is controlled by an air flow control cap (AFCS Cap), conveniently positioned on top of the device. This allows you to choose how tight or loose your draw will be. The air is afterwards driven through the AFCS Tube, passing from the middle of the device and then lead to the side and bottom of the coil, ensuring the best air supply option for the vaporization process.
The two systems of the Wave RTA, liquid flow control (LFCS) and air flow control (AFCS) are controlled separately, and can be used real time. This makes the Wave a one-of-a-kind RTA, since any adjustments/modifications can be made any time, even with a full tank and functioning setup.
The same basic concept can be applied to a number of different atomizer formats, including 510d-type, integrated tank-system and the equivalent hybrid versions for use with Atmizone mods. All formats share the same basic performance characteristics and can be rebuilt without having to drain any e-liquid from the tank.
Project Status
The main characteristics of the device were defined and sketched in early 2013, while the first CAD drawings and atomizer prototypes were produced soon after. Working prototypes have been publicly photographed, used and demonstrated by Atmizone team members on many occasions. After going through a public testing process, which involved a restricted number of testers and a small batch public release for this purpose, the Wave is now available via our e-shop section and our official partners.
Stay tuned for more updates!
