Setting Eyes on AIOs – DotShell for DotAIO

For quite some time, we have believed that AIO designs are the future of vaping. The evolution and birth of more and more AIO devices over the past two years has been the tangible proof of this. Timing was perfect when we first saw the dotAIO while in Stuttgart Hall of Vape 2019. Simple yet classy, perfect form factor, plus – given its size – with plenty of room in its tank space for an RBA heart. After a short chat with Dotmod team we loved what we heard and told ourselves that the mentality and collaboration spirit between both sides seemed to be making a perfect match.
– “We love the VapeShell, would you make an RBA for the dotAIO?” they said and this instant was the very moment of DotShell conception.

Shell for Dot

DotShell takes the basic concept of the VapeShell and elaborates, incorporating also some elements out of dotAIO stock components. The design utilizes the top part of dotAIO’s stock reservoir, incorporates an adaptation of dotAIO RBA’s AFC system, but also offers a surprisingly large deck with real time access potential and further customisable air flow under coil. The deck is able to host many different approaches of one-coil rebuilding, from simple round wire to large exotic coils, still retaining high tank capacity (a bit higher from Dotmod’s RBA version). The air flow is adjusted by an AFC base section with high accuracy which dials in the air hole under coil from zero to either D=3.8mm (stock Pos Tube) or D=2.0mm (spare Pos. Tube). There is an MTL set of pins further available as an accessory, which, as with the VapeShell, further customises the air flow for proper true MTL setups. This makes the DothSell versatile and perfect for a wide range of vaping profiles, from MTL to DTL. Add to the above Dotmod’s auxilary 510 base for testing, rebuilding, dry-burning or other purposes and you have the whole package. You can’t get wrong with the DotShell: Its features and potential bring the already succesful dotAIO to a totally different level.

– Air flow tuning via an AFCS Ring adjusting from zero to either D=3.8mm (stock Pos Tube) or D=2.0mm (spare Pos. Tube). Fine tuning with accessory MTL pins kit D=1.0/1.2/1.5mm
– M2.5mm pan head phillips post screws.
– 12.2mm post-to-post length, ~8.5mm post-to-post net space , ~8.0mm coil space.
– Max. net coiling height in the chamber 4.2mm
– Chimney top inner D ~4.0mm
– Height ~35mm [AFC section attached, Rebuild Base excl.] / Weight ~25g [AFCS section attached, Rebuild Base excl.]

Summing Up

The DotShell is based on the VapeShell deck design, yet taking quite some steps forward. It has a totally different liquid feed system that ensures optimal wicking and an accurate air flow control with extra choices, but its most important feature is the adaptation of dotAIO’s reservoir top part to the design of the device, this way allowing real time access to deck and maximising capacity. With its design, the DotShell introduces all features of RTAs to the dotAIO and allows a wide variety of builds / air flow choices, addressing to all types vapers with success and bringing the already succesful dotAIO to another level.

The Release

Official release of the DotShell is scheduled for Tuesday Dec 31th via atmizoo.com and official Atmizone partners worldwide.

    C’est juste magnifique quel travail de qualité, rien à voir avec le rba de dotmod, le tirage mtl avec l’insère de 1mm que du bonheur ,simplicité de montage ,les saveurs sont juste terribles.

    This is so good… I also tried the Dot RBA but you can’t compare it with the Dotshell… The Dotshell is way better… It’s on a other Level…
    I use it with the 1mm Airpin and IT is so good… I love IT… And its so easy to build…
