Tripod like diamond

Our recent release of the DotShell plated editions has been the first fruitful result of our long time research in the world of finishing processes. We are ready to take yet another important step, by proudly presenting the special edition of our successful Tripod RTA, in DLC Carbon Black.

The Color

Carbon Black is a dark shade of black, typical of carbon (coal) and closer to darker black shades, produced in nature from charring organic materials such as wood or bone. DLC colors usually range from anthracite to deep black. We have preferred the deeper black treatment over lighter and more greyish choices and tried to enhance the dark matte result with the application of sandblasting on all outer surfaces prior to the DLC treatment.

The Treatment

Diamond-Like Carbon treatment offers a unique combination of high hardness and distinctive, solid finish. Due to its properties it is widely used, from functional high-hardness applications (tools hardening and higher wear resistance on parts) to decorative lower-hardness but still high-quality applications (durable finishes on watches, jewellery, gadgets etc.). The design of the Tripod RTA and the parts it comprises from, have allowed us to only treat outer parts, leaving the inner parts untreated. Inner parts that deal with higher temp and strain through vaping routines (scratches and bumps on deck from rebuilding, friction of base when mating with mods) have been left intact and unfinished (natural SS316F). Treated are the AFC Ring, the Chimney, the Seal and the Top Cap. This way, the visual result is ideal, ensuring better looks long term and at the same time protecting the aforementioned inner parts.

The Release

The Tripod DLC Carbon Black will be introduced to public for the first time with an exclusive pre-release drop via our group, starting from today.
Following the pre-release, it will be making its official debut on Tuesday 23rd February 2021, on atmizoo.com/shop and our resellers network worldwide.

      Absolutely love my Tripod, I never thought anything could be be better than my Kayfun Prime, but it is.
      I have to complaints however I think that need your attention when it comes to the Black DLC version which I own.
      My suggestion is to add a silver dot on the top cap to find the arrow alignment to refill the tank, it is EXTREMELY hard to find, I need a jewelers loupe.
      The other is to do the same on the chimney to access the deck, as once there is juice in there it is impossible to see, you basically will figure it out if the arrow on one juice control opening isn’t opening, turn the the arrow to the next one and you will have it..
      I love the black, but I am kind of regretting not getting the SS version now just because of those 2 annoyences .

      Hi Anthony,

      Many thanks for your kind communication and feedback! We are certainly aware that the marking signs are not easily visible with bare eyes in the case of DLC Carbon Black Tripod. However, pls have in mind that all functions incurred, can be executed without actually seeing the markings. In both cases, Top Cap remove / replace and Tank section remove / replace:
      1. In order to remove, you just need to rotate slowly while at the same time pulling up gently, until it reaches aligned position and allows release.
      2. In order to replace, you push the part gently into place while at the same time rotating slowly, until it reaches aligned position and gets into place.
      Not super easy for sure, but if you try it a couple of times you will understand what I mean, also be able to reproduce it much easier 🙂
