Tripod batch II info and release
Some news about the long awaited Tripod batch II 🙂
Batch II will be released coming mid-week, starting on Tuesday Aug 6th for our Facebook group members and VIP customers exclusively and then publicly from Wednesday Aug 7th 2019 and on. It won’t be a one-off release, we will try to regulate things by releasing around 80 devices every day. It also won’t be a fixed time release, stock will be replenished at random and various times each day, to ensure access to as many people as possible. No worries if someone doesn’t make it, as there is already a new batch scheduled after 20 days.
Together with batch II, we will also introduce two new accessories for the Tripod, added to the already published 3.4ml extension kit:
– A longer version of Tripod’s bespoke drip tip top part, closer to classic MTL style drip tips.
– A fixed air flow tubes kit targeted for RDL / DL vaping. It consists of five tubes with air flow hole 2.0 / 2.2 / 2.5 / 2.8 / 3.0 mm, which work as a replacement of current positive post tube (air hole opening 4.0mm).
More details about these accessories will soon be posted. They will be released on Thursday Aug 1st exclusively for our Facebook group members and VIP customers, then on Monday Aug 5th publicly and prior to batch II release, so that Tripod early adopters can access them first. Early adopters (Tripod batch I owners) can also benefit from a 20% discount on any Tripod part or accessory, using the coupon code partsoff . This as a small sign of gratitude for their support and love. The new accessories are abundant though to ensure that those interested in batch II will be able to include them in their order.

Batch II does not have significant changes from batch I, mostly to ensure smooth collaboration with replacement parts in the future. Small details to be noted:
– The Top Cap is made only a tad bit stiffer in rotation, to avoid accidental easy twist when device is in a bag / pocket. Difference in feel is minor.
– Post screws are updated with SS instead of steel core with nickel plating of batch I. The specs are very similar (philips large pan head M2.5 x 4mm, head being by 0.25mm taller on cross point from their predecessors). Using the steel core, nickel plated screws ensures better wire grip and better screwdriver grip on head, plus tear and wear focused on screws (easily replaceable) rather than post threads. However this also requires regular preview / check for tear and wear on nickel plating plus replacement of screws on regular basis. SS screws offer peace of mind but a bit worse results on grip. We feel we have not informed our customers properly regarding this detail when releasing first batch, so the tear and wear on their screws might just be quicker than expected. This is why we have chosen peace of mind and will update all future batches from batch II and on with SS screws, plus do the following:
– Add a set of SS screws for any “batch I” owner, to any of their future orders with us. They will just need to mention their serial number and request for SS screws in the customer note field when ordering (eg. TR-007, pls add free set of SS screws).
– Send out a set of SS screws for free to those not wanting to make any future order with us.
– Keep the steel core with nickel plating screws as a replacement part for those that will opt for them deliberately, have all the above in mind.
